I have read a couple of postings expressing near glee that Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump, Jr.’s girlfriend, has tested positive for COVID-19.
If you read anything I have written, it is apparent I strongly believe the president has mishandled this pandemic from day one. I am of the opinion that his unwillingness to listen to those with broad experience and expertise has exponentially worsened the impact of the Novel Corona Virus on our fellow citizens.
I have other concerns in which I believe, sadly, somehow this global threat has been hampered, perhaps greatly worsened, because it has devolved into more of an ideological debate over partisan politics and less about containing, preventing and slowing the spread of an infectious disease.
I have a different viewpoint than many I consider close friends, some with whom I strongly disagree concerning their views about the current pandemic, and the current administration. However, with that said, I care deeply for every person I call friend, even those with whom I disagree. Even if those disagreements are vehement — my concern, care, love, loyalty and affection remains unchanged.
For my negative impressions, I do not want to see the president, his family, his supporters, or for that matter, any person, contract or suffer from this indiscriminate virus which afflicts each infected person so differently that the outcomes of each are difficult to predict.
Kimberly Guilfoyle is a fellow human being, and even if her current status is due to misinformation influenced by an ideological divide — her status as COVID positive is nothing in which to take joy.
