WTFW — Author/Writer Groups and Rules

In today's edition of WTF Wednesday...

I always find it interesting when I am invited to join a group on social media. If I want the honor of belonging, I must answer something like 3 questions. I rarely bother. Yet, then I get notices, repeatedly, demanding I answer these questions for admittance. I ignore over and over. I didn't ask to join, someone asked me, so shove your petty and intrusive interrogation up your ass. Besides, if you genuinely want to learn about me --- read my writings! All can be found in the words I use to describe the characters I create to craft the stories I tell.

Sometimes, somehow, with out answering these ridiculous inquires, I have gained entrance. I am now, please read with condescending sarcasm --- "one of the group." After which, I am bombarded with rules.

WTF!!!

We are not brain numbed, mind dead automatons! We are storytellers! We are artists of the written word! We don't follow convention and rules!

Our very art demands that we push and break boundaries of a society that tries to bury our individuality under oppression, rules guided by authoritarian elements of style. Yet, when an author creates a social media group --- he or she adopts the posture of the fascist regimes which Papa so despised.

The Internet and social media are supposed to be the next great frontiers. However, the rule bringers eventually invade and seek to impose their will on the masses. I have made some great virtual friends via social media. I am glad to be a member of groups. Yet, we must never forget ---

We write to be free! We write to express freedom! We write to create unbound by those who seek to stifle!

To the heavy handed moderators, can you please descend from your ivory towers of self-righteousness, veil your need to control others, and just live and let live?

WTF???

**I wonder how many groups will be giving me the boot?**

“Who am I?”

I am an independent, self-published teller of tales, an author of scarcely any renown. However, as a storyteller, I know who I am, and with that persona, I am both confident and comfortable.

I invite you to visit my website,

and/or Amazon Author Pages

if you are so inclined please purchase a copy and leave a review.

Thank you,

Joe
