When a former military person realizes that, for some reason,
cowardice has replaced courage,
the new normal is a bleak, unforgiving darkness
which not even the brightest light can hope to penetrate.
For every one person who overcomes their demons, there are hundreds, if not thousands, who do not. It is those stories which I choose to tell.
