You hurt me today
You returned — into my life
Seduced — one another
Again I fell — in love
You hurt me today
Your passions at home — unfulfilling
To me you turned — wanting
Lustful needs — yearning
You hurt me today
Your wanton sexual desire — fulfilled
My love fueled passion — used
My soul — discarded
You hurt me today
There was another — more importantly cherished
I was the other — negligibly acknowledged
Insignificant and inconsequential
You hurt me today
There were no more fantastical moments
Not even a few seconds to share
You no longer had need
You hurt me today
You thought I felt — neglected
It was — scathing rejection
Cruel — abandonment
You hurt me today
You proclaimed — I am done
You flat out said — fond memories
You made it clear I am — no longer appealing
You hurt me today
Why?
I don’t matter
The answer is that simple
You hurt me today
I write of the damaged and broken, because that is the norm.
For each person who overcomes their demons, there are hundreds,
if not thousands, who do not. It is their stories I tell.
“Who am I?”
I am an independent, self-published teller of tales,
an author, as of yet, scarcely any renown.
However, as a storyteller, I know who I am,
and with that persona, I am both confident and comfortable.
